A World in Devotional Projections
The world of devotional projections imagines the landscape and architecture which consumed Jerome in his time of ultimate devotion, where he translated the word of God from Hebrew to Ancient Greek. In 15th-century paintings, we see saintly proceedings occurring in the courts surrounding Jerome study, overlooked by peculiar landscapes, through our interpretive projections, a new world emerges.
Our response was prompted by projecting and unfolding various devotional paintings to imagine the world outside St Jerome’s study.
